An elementary component of WAS is the SAP Workflow Engine. With SAP Business Workflow, you can define business processes across modules and work areas and integrate them into existing processes. These can be simple release or approval procedures or also more complex business processes such as the recording of a set of material master data and the coordination of the participating departments involved. SAP Business Workflow can be used especially efficiently in areas where work processes must continuously be run or where the business process requires a number of people to process it in a defined order.
